Busy Doing Nothing!!

So have been wracking my brain thinking what I can write about and have been patiently waiting for something exciting to happen so I can sound like I am more interesting than I actually am.
Every day is the same, Get up spend two hours arguing with the kids, dragging them out of bed, trying to get them to eat something decent for breakfast which Charley seems to think means a bag of crisps and some Irn Bru! The fighting while they get dressed and telling Lauryn that she has an hour till school time so she can take off the bag and jacket. The morning hunt for Olivia's shoes, every day, how is that even possible? If I manage to get them off to school without one of them collapsing in tears or them trying to murder each other its a victory. Then Phew, ten minutes peace, a quick coffee and off to work for a rest.
The rest of the day is spent doing house work, trying to grab a quick nap before the kids get home, crazy dogs, ponies and a constant round of arguing kids and mess.
So here I am thinking how boring I am but on reflection I have realized this is in fact not boring but normal(ish). In houses up and down the country families are doing exactly the same thing. just living life, getting through the day and doing what needs to be done. Trying to keep kids happy and healthy is hard work and most of the time is bloody difficult. having to be a nurse, referee, chef, taxi driver the list is endless. worrying that you are doing a good enough job, that the girls will grow up confident and happy, that they wont make the same mistakes I did and that they will never feel pain or sadness. But its not all bad. It can also be fantastic, to cuddle them and feel so much love for this little person that you could burst. To look at them as see yourself and feel proud of them. To see them happy and hear them laughing and to know that for at least today you are doing a good job.
So my life may be boring but I wouldn't change it for the world :-)

THE PETS

And so it begins (again)!!

So yesterday Nicola announced the news we had all been expecting, something I have believed in since I was old enough to understand. something I was brought up by my parents to believe would happen one day even if it was not in our lifetime, so why do I feel so sick at even the mention of it??
I know why, its because I was so heartbroken on September 19th 2014 that I didn't know what to do with myself. The feeling of disappointment, of a chance not taken, of a loss of something that we never had. I am so scared of the same result that I don't want to go through it all again so soon. But could it just be possible? could it be different this time? If there is even a chance we have to try even if it means this is the last chance.
So once again we will campaign and again I will drive everyone I know nuts in the hope that I can make a difference no matter how small to the outcome. If I can change even a few minds then I will have done my best.
I know most of my friends and family disagree with me and believe that we are fine as we are and should be part of the United Kingdom and that is what democracy is all about, that others have the right to choose just as I do even if we agree to disagree. If that choice is made with a knowledge of the political system and both sides of the argument then good luck to them but when people choose to vote NO through ignorance and lack of understanding with no interest to find out exactly what they are voting for I start to get really hacked off. When the facebook comments from idiots with no clue and who wouldn't know politics unless Jeremy Kyle talks about it on his show I have to stop myself saying out loud what I really think. Already the  "unbiased" press have gone into the usual anti independence crap and when a reporter on sky news asked Alex Salmond last night what currency do we plan to use I nearly threw my cup at the telly. I wonder how many times I will need to find myself shouting "ITS OUR BLOODY POUND" or "NO WESTMINSTER DOES NOT GIVE US MONEY ITS OUR MONEY TO START WITH" in the next eighteen months. What's more the campaign wont start in earnest till 100 days before the vote and that's a long time to rant for lol.
So I am hiding here ranting whilst I try and avoid all news,  front pages and facebook for the foreseeable. And When the time comes I will campaign my wee heart out with everything crossed because this time we can do it, because my poor wee heart cant cope if we don't.

This is me.

Here are my girls
This is Olivia age10, she is my mini me. She is horse daft and loves anything to do with science. She has an amazing imagination and think she is going to be a wonderful artist. I had never quite understood mum saying I was a nightmare when I was young until Olivia came along, She was definitely sent to test me and think she is definitely going to cause me a few grey hairs in years to come.
Here is Lauryn age 9. Lauryn is my wee genius. She is very clever and loves school. she is older than her years and is 9 going on 19. Lauryn is my sidekick, she does lots to help in the house and is a huge help but is also the most stubborn we madam you could ever meet. She likes things a certain way and nothing will change her mind.
Charley age 6. What can I say about charley? she is so clever and is an expert at anything involving technology. She is really funny and always has us in stiches. She also suits her nickname cheeky charley. She likes her own way and rules the roost. She is usually found doing something she shouldn't be.

Friday 10th March 2017

Have been trying to think what to write and decided that nothing very exciting ever happens in this house however on reflection have realized that in fact I have just gotten used to the fact that its a complete mad house.
Today for example is my day off work. I had thought that perhaps I would have a nice relaxing day with no kids and lots of peace and quiet, afternoon nap and cakes. but no sadly it was not to be. Woke up this morning to a house gone mad. Firstly Lauryn who has been off school all week with tonsillitis (and seemed to be on the mend last night) came through like death warmed up declaring she was dying. then Charley, who is defiantly not a morning person, unusually bounced in happy as Larry which would be lovely if it was not for the fact she was covered in spots. a quick check of her body confirmed the worst, she does indeed have chicken pox. At which point Olivia hearing this goes into meltdown as she cant get chicken pox because she is going to her friends party on Sunday no matter what and charley better not come near her or touch anything including her dog?? Alas it now seems that my relaxing day off is out the window replaced by Minecraft, moaning and mess.
If it was not bad enough that the kids are driving me crazy and its not even lunchtime, it appears we now have a dog that is up the duff. Its no a great surprise after Brian managed to take his eyes off the dogs a couple of weeks back which resulted in a randy Haggis having his wicked way with Holly. I had stupidly hoped that nothing would come of it but should of remembered that its us and if anything stupid can happen its going to. no doubt she will have loads of pups and it will be bloody pandemonium for weeks. Wonder what else will go wrong today, never mind there is still cake!!
Just another happy day in the O'Neill house!!

Welcome

Welcome

Hello, welcome to my Blog. Let me introduce myself.

My name is Tracy, I am 40 years old and live in a small village in Aberdeenshire with my wonderful if slightly crazy family.

I am married to Brian and we have three amazing girls Olivia 10, Lauryn 9 and Charley 6. We also have a house full of animals. Five dogs, four guinea pigs, two tortoises and two budgies.  Not forgetting our wee pony Disney who lives in the stables up the road.

I work as a receptionist/admin at the local Citizens Advice Bureaux which I love.
